Gary Wayne Burgess

Gary Wayne Burgess, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, began his heavenly journey on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Gary was born in Midland, Texas, on September 9, 1952, and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Polytechnic High School, Class of 1970.

Gary was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) and retired after 32 years of service. He was an avid woodworker and loved making birdhouses for family and friends.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Brenda Royal Burgess; his loving children, Kyle Wilson Burgess and Ryan Michael Burgess and wife, Amanda. He also leaves behind a lasting legacy in his six grandchildren: three grandsons, Micah Wilson Burgess and his wife, Corissa; Matthew Reed Burgess and his wife, Rayanna; and Jace Christopher Torres; and three granddaughters, Bailee Grace Burgess, Brooklin Laine Burgess, and Sylar Marie Torres. Recently, Gary became a great-grandfather to his first great-grandson, Carter Allen Wayne Burgess, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Novis Henry Burgess and Edna Marie Burgess, and his son, Brett Allen Burgess.
