Evelyn Louise (Whiteley) Sanders

On Friday, March 3, 2023, Evelyn Louise Whiteley Sanders, loving mother of six children, passed
away at the age of 96.
Evelyn was born June 1, 1926, in Dermott, TX to A.E. Whiteley and Callie (Ubank) Whiteley.
They moved many times as a child, but lived most of her life in Fort Worth, TX. She graduated
from Paschal High School. She met the love of her life in Jan. 1946 and married Arthur Sanders on
Jan. 10, 1947. They raised 4 boys and 2 girls, and she loved being a part of the Sanders Family. 
Evelyn’s passion was to serve the Lord and always wanted to teach children. She taught for
more than 60 years. She attended Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Trentman Baptist Church before
moving to Haslet, TX where she attended Liberty Baptist Church. After her move to Alvarado in 1992 she
joined the Fundamental Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her last day here on this earth.
She enjoyed doing for others. She was known for her great pies and desserts as well as crocheting blankets, booties, baby blankets and much more. Many of these crocheted items
would go to the Nursing Home for the patients and others for her family, church family and friends.
Until Covid Evelyn and her buddies would go to Silver Sneakers for exercise and of course after
their workout would go have lunch. She loved these ladies and so enjoyed their company.
Evelyn was preceded by her parents, A.E. and Callie Whiteley. Sister, Norma Jean Cure. Brother,
Royce Whiteley and beloved husband, Arthur Sanders. She is survived by her children, Alan, Darlene,
Gary and wife Sandra, Steve and wife Susan, Jim and Donna. Her 12 grandchildren, Jason,
Jesse, Johnathan, Aaron, Brett, Callie, Cody, Casey, Tiffany, Jennifer, Emily and Clayton. Her 13 great
grandchildren, Bryce, Riley, Caiden, Bailey, Brooke, Brody, Blakely, Addison, Mason, Ella, Fionn,
Thomas and Jackson. One great great grandson, Carson. 
A funeral service will be held Friday 10, 2023 at the Clayton Kay Vaughn Funeral Home, 200 E Patton
Ave. in Alvarado, TX at 10:00am.
