Born December 17, 1948 to Elmer and Dorothy Kirkland. Larry was called home on February 5, 2021 at 7:02AM while in Hospice Care.
He is survived by his wife Renee of 36 years and their special dog Sparky. Mother in law Peggy Riley of Alvarado, Texas, brother in law, Jim Jeter and wife Patricia of Weatherford, Texas, Sister in law Laura Jeter of Burleson, Texas, Aunt Bettye O'Dell of Fort Worth, Texas, three cousins Pam O'Dell, Curtis Irwin, Gary Leeth and a multitude of friends.
Larry loved Alvarado and attended school in Alvarado as well. He was a friend to many and was always ready to help any one as best as he could. Larry also served on several boards in Alvarado, such as the P&Z Board , The Johnson County Pioneer, and Old Settlers Association Board. Larry was a long time volunteer for the Reunion Association and said many times he had only missed a couple of reunions over the years.
Larry's profession was a Barber & worked in Cleburne for several years. He also worked with this father and uncle Charles at Kirkland Brothers Motor/Car Lot. You would often see Larry about town all day, visiting and checking in on you.
Larry will be missed by many.
Come and go visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9am-1pm at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Alvarado at 2pm.
Tom Durrington will officiate Eulogy.
