Edward Jefferson Arnold (Eddy) was born in Nashville, Arkansas on November 5, 1953. He went home to
be with the Lord on Friday January 29, 2021.
Eddy was the fourth of seven boys blessed to Charles and Mary Arnold. Born in Arkansas, Eddy’s family
moved to Grand Prairie, TX while he was young. Eddy considered himself a true Texan. He graduated
from Grand Prairie High School in 1972. After graduation, Eddy became a plumbing apprentice under his
good friend Junior Schweitzer. Eddy later became a master plumber and enjoyed his trade for 48 years.
Eddy was a master of much more than plumbing and passed his skills on to his daughters. He was gifted
with a fun and laid-back personality that made him a joy to be around. Eddy never met a stranger and
was loved by all. Diagnosed with lung disease in 2006, he received a double lung transplant in 2009.
Eddy lived an additional 12 years after receiving his Gift of Life. This allowed him to watch his grandsons
grow into wonderful young men. Eddy had many lifelong friends that meant the world to him. The
Saturday morning “Breakfast Club” was a highlight of his week… You guys will never know how much he
enjoyed those Saturday morning meetings. Eddy spoke with his buddy Darrell at least once a day,
usually more. No pizza was better than pizza enjoyed with his longtime pal Ijaz and the Hussain family.
Eddy felt blessed to be surrounded by a special group of friends in his wonderful neighbors.
Eddy always told Brenda, “Do not cry or feel bad for me because I had a good life. You gave me the best
gifts I could have ever gotten in life. Summer and Miki are everything to me and they call me Dad. I
never dreamed that I’d have this much love in my lifetime with them and the boys. If it’s my time, it’s
my time and I’m okay with it. Don’t get me wrong, it will be hard to leave y’all, but I know that God has
something in store for me and I’ll get to see my family in heaven when I get there.”
Eddy is proceeded in death by his loving parents Charles and Mary Dyas Arnold and his brothers David
and Johnny.
Eddy is survived by his wife Brenda Eaves Arnold of 39 years; daughters Summer and Ryan Nichter of
Humble, Texas and Miki Alexander and Brian Warner of Grandview, Texas; grandsons Cody Bennett, Kyle
Nichter, Reed Nichter, Case Northrop and Tristan Warner; brothers Jimmy and Barbara Arnold of New
