Dorothy Alice Etheridge Fry died at peace quietly at her son’s home on April 28, 2025. Mrs. Fry was born on May 8, 1928, to William Franklin and Flora Alice Etheridge in Sweetwater TX.
She graduated from nursing school at St Joseph Hospital during World War II where she met and ultimately married Robert Bryant Fry. Together they had four children Robert Bryant Jr, Aaron Franklin, Laura Alice, and John David.
As an RN she worked with various hospitals and doctors before finally becoming head nurse for American Airlines Medical Facility DFW until her retirement.
She and Robert were married for 58 years enjoying many years of faithful service to the church, family, and friends, travelling together after retirement. They were devoted Christians worshipping at North Davis Church of Christ, Arlington, most of their adult lives.
She is survived by her brother Johnny Dale Etheridge, wife Martha of Huntington Harbor California. Her children Robert Fry, wife Nan of Texarkana TX, Aaron (Buddy) Fry, wife Debra of Grandview TX, Laura Alice Fry of North Richland Hills, John David Fry of North Richland Hills TX.
Granddaughter Sarah Alice Johnson, husband Joe and great grandson Hunter Bradshaw of Combine TX, Granddaughter Brittany Fry Barnes, husband Todd, Great Grandchildren Cohen, Jude, Zoey, and Eleanor Barnes of Grandview TX. Grandson Mark Asher Fry, wife Katherine and Great grandson Sebastian of Huntsville AL.
Grandson John David (JD) Fry Jr, wife Candice and Great Grandsons Aaron John (AJ) and Lucas of Waxahachie TX. Great Granddaughter Kharley Grace Rowan and Great Great Grandson Rowan Scott Johnson of Ft Worth, TX, Great Great Granddaughter Abigail Caress Walton of Arlington TX. Other beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents William and Flora Etheridge, her husband Robert Bryant Fry Sr, Sister Bobbie Jeannine Brannon, Grandson Aaron Fry Jr and Granddaughter Annie Paige Walton.
Memorial services for the immediate family are pending with burial planned at DFW National Memorial Cemetery.
