David Earl Helms

David Earl Helms, 55, passed away on June 16, 2026. He was born on April 2, 1971, in Paris, Texas, to Stanley E. Helms and Linda Gail Huddleston.

David spent his early years in Paris before moving to Duncanville, Texas, in 1978. In 2017, he made his home in Alvarado, Texas, where he built a life filled with faith, family, friendship, and a love for the outdoors.

On April 25, 2026, David married the love of his life, Marie Beutler. Their marriage was a blessing and a source of great happiness in his life.

David was a dedicated electrician and took great pride in his work. He was employed with Tutor Electrical Service, where he worked faithfully since 2008. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, he earned the respect and friendship of many throughout his career.

A man of strong faith, He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and especially loved spending time outdoors. Whether camping, boating, fishing, riding dirt bikes, or four-wheeling, David felt most at home surrounded by nature. His adventurous spirit and appreciation for the outdoors were evident to all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his father, Stanley E. Helms; his stepfather, Marion Lester; his grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Huddleston and Clyde and Iris Helms; his grandson, Weston Dixon; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marie Helms; his mother, Linda Lester; his children, Eric Wade and wife Abbi, Donnie Martinez and wife Robyn, Patrick Dixon and wife Nichole, Phillip Dixon and wife Braili, and Jessica Dixon; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Spence, Mackenna Spence, Peyton Wade, Chloe Dixon, Naomi Dixon, Dominic Dixon, Scarlett Dryden, and Sage Dixon; his sister, Gayla Tietz and husband Ernie; his nephews, Zakary Cain and Carson Cain; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, cherished friends, and chosen family members who will forever treasure his memory.

David's kindness, faith, sense of adventure, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and, in the memories, shared by those who knew and loved him.
