Charlie M. Phillips, 90, of Alvarado, TX, passed away June 26, 2020, in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Charlie was born on October 17, 1929 to Sid and Mae Bell Phillips in Crowell, TX. The family moved to Alvarado when Charlie was six months old. He is a graduate of Alvarado High School, class of 1948. He continued to be a big supporter of AISD throughout his life.
Charlie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado. He loved life and people and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a love for all sports, especially golf, Girls basketball and watching his 2 great-grandsons play basketball.
Before going into business for himself he was General Manager for Charlie Hillard Ford in Ft Worth, TX. Two of the many businesses he owned and operated were Charlie Phillips Trucking and Riverview Country Club. Charlie received many awards in his lifetime but the one he was most proud of was the AISD Hall of Excellence.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory: his wife of 32 years, Glenda Phillips; daughter, Rhonda Martin; granddaughter Ashley Hines and husband Jacob; his pride and joy great-grandsons Peyton Charlie Hines and Jackson Bryant Hines, many cousins and dear friends.

Family visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado on July 7th at 1pm. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 2 pm.
