Carolyn Kay Morton
Carolyn Kay Morton, 80, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1946, in Lefors, Texas, to Charles and Sue Smiley.
Carolyn was the youngest of three children and spent her early years growing up in the close-knit community of Lefors. After marrying Richard Spence, Carolyn made her home in Levelland, Texas, where she lovingly raised her three children: Robert Spence, Rick Spence, and Sandra Six. Later, the family moved to Alvord, Texas, where her children completed their high school years.
Carolyn dedicated 28 years of service to Walmart, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind heart. Outside of work, she found great joy in sewing and gardening. She loved creating beautiful things with her hands and took pride in caring for her flowers and plants.
She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother to Barrett Spence (preceded her in death), Dylan Spence, Derick Spence, Matthew Six, Sara Pugh, Alison Barksdale, and Jeremy Dingle.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sue Smiley; her husband, Harvey Morton; and her grandson, Barrett Spence.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Robert Spence, Rick Spence, and Sandra Six; her sister, Barbara Smith; her brother, Everett Smiley; her grandchildren; and the many family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and quiet love.
Carolyn's will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
