Betty Lou Walraven

September 4, 1929 ~ August 5, 2021 (age 91)


Betty Lou Walraven, 91, went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2021, in Burleson, Texas.

Betty was born on September 4, 1929, in Alvarado, Texas to Bertha Bryant Powell and Milton Guy Powell.

On June 14, 1947, she married the love of her life, L.C. Walraven. They were married for 62 years.

In the 60’s Betty worked as a beautician and ran a beauty shop, out of her home. She also worked for the Alvarado Independent School District.

Better known as “Ma Ma”, nobody was prouder of their grandkids. She managed to find time for all 8, and rarely missed a sporting event or major life event. She enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones, her family was everything to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.C. Walraven, and her brother, Milton Guy Powell Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, Larry, Gary and his wife Suzan, and Randy; her grandchildren, Timmy Walraven and wife, Dana, Tammy Walraven-Ellinger, Casey Walraven and wife, Abby, Caroline Kelm and husband, Ky, Haley Walraven and Paul Williams, Lindsay Walraven, Clint Walraven and wife, Lauren, and Brent Walraven; her great grandchildren, Austin Ellinger, Hayden Walraven, Taylor Ellinger, Anna Walraven, Kate Walraven, Sady Williams, Reese Walraven, Rex Walraven, Witt Williams, Dax Walraven, Remi Kelm, Liv Walraven, Cooper Kelm, and Landry Walraven; her sister, Joan Hickman; her brother, Don Powell; her sister-in-law, Betty Lou Shelton; her daughter-in-law, Paula Walraven; cousins, Tommie Quattlebaum and Billie Key, and numerous family and friends
