Betty Lee Fletcher, age 84, left this world and went to her heavenly home on
September 21, 2021. She was born on May 15, 1937 in Waco, Texas to Lee
Franklin and Mattie Shelton Niswanger. From a young age, Betty helped to raise
her four brothers. She attended Axtell Schools where she enjoyed many sports
including basketball, baseball and running track.
She met the love of her life, Louie Dean Fletcher, and they married on November
16, 1962. Together, they raised four children and were married 47 years. Betty
was a loving mother and she was involved in all aspects of raising them. She
served as a boy and girl scout troop leader and later she supported them, from
football, rodeo club, FFA and FHA. There was no construction too big or too small
for Betty, she could fix anything. She taught her girls, grandchildren and great
grandchildren how to cook. She was an excellent homemaker. Betty was always
willing to help others and there was never any shortage of food for visitors, all
were welcome at her table. She loved gardening, painting, sewing, quilting,
genealogy, crafting, watching the birds in her yard, playing with her great
grandchildren and having tea parties. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist
Church; she loved her Lord.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Bill, Charles,
Ted and Fred Niswanger.
She is survived by her son, David Fletcher, daughter, Leisa Hardin and husband
Bob, daughter Della Grote and husband Mark, son Richard Fletcher and wife
Daphne. Her grandchildren, Richard Grote, Krecia Ball and husband Travis, Shiloh
Fletcher and wife Misty, Chisum Fletcher and wife Marla, Buck Grote and wife
Stephanie, Cimarron Fletcher and wife Janna, Bud Hardin and wife Mandi, Danny
Kinnamon and Stephanie Fletcher Smith. Fourteen great grandchildren,
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She loved them all
dearly.
Visitation will be at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, Alvarado, Texas from 4-6
pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Service will be at Bethesda Baptist Church, Burleson, Texas at 10:30 am on
Monday, September, 27, 2021 with burial to follow at the Bethesda Cemetery.
