Betty Lou Deaver

Betty Griggs Deaver, born on January 9, 1929, in Alvarado Texas, passed away peacefully on
May 15, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Betty’s life was marked by compassion, service, and unwavering faith. She pursued her calling
in nursing at Baylor Nursing School in Dallas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing. Her dedication to caring for others extended far beyond her professional life-it was the
very essence of who she was.
She found deep joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved tending to her garden, taking long
walks, and gathering with friends and family over a game of dominoes. Yet above all else, what
brought her the greatest fulfillment was helping others. Whether through her love and
commitment to her husband and family or through quiet acts of kindness in daily life, Betty lived
with a servant’s heart.
Her faith in Jesus as her savior was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of her church
community, Betty attended services regularly and drew strength from her relationship with the
Lord.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Curtis; her parents, Raymond and Jesma
Griggs; and her granddaughter Hannah.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sharon Perkins; sons Ron (Christi) and Glenn
(Rebecca);
Grandchildren Shane (Mary Lee), Ryan, Annie Bohrn (Doug), Raymond, Courtney, Rachel, and Shana Alexander;
great-grandchildren Willie and Tripp (Bohrn) and Rosie; along with many other relatives and
friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Visitation will be held on Sun. May 18, 4:00 pm.
Celebration of Life will be held Mon. May 19, 1:00 pm.
Both will be at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home 200 E Patton, Alvarado.
