With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Barry Alonzo Bryan, a.k.a. Bulldog, who left us on September 2, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 25, 1949, in Columbus, GA, Barry grew up in Stephenville, TX, and worked as a machinist throughout his life. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Barry was a people person. He loved running around town visiting and talking with friends. One of Barry’s most enduring qualities was his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was a steadfast husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a dear friend to so many. He touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, humor, energy, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
He found joy in simple pleasures, solace in mowing the lawn, even when it wasn’t his. Barry could often be found mowing around town. He loved music, sports, and day trips driving. Barry’s enthusiasm and zest for life were contagious, making every moment spent with him an adventure filled with joy and laughter. Barry faced life’s challenges with unwavering courage and grace. He taught us the true meaning of strength, resilience, and perseverance, leaving a profound impact on all who were privileged to witness his journey.
Barry is preceded in death by his father Alonzo Bryan Jr., his mother Edna Bryan, and his brother Eugene Bryan. Barry is survived by his wife, Kimberly S. Bryan, two daughters, Jennifer Tribble (Chris) and Leslie Hall (Clay), five grandsons, Seth (Krystal), Cole (Madison), Payton (Ellie), Alec (Catherine), Preston, sister, Terry Matthews, sister-in-law, Connie, nephews Marcus and Steven, nieces Allison, Ashley, Kristina, Davona, and his first great-grandson who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. In addition, Barry will always be remembered by a wide circle of friends and colleagues who admired his spirit.
A memorial service will be held on September 11, 2024, 3:00PM, at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, 200 E. Patton Ave, Alvarado Texas 76009. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their memories of Barry as we celebrate a life well lived.
Barry may be no longer with us in person, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Barry will forever be remembered for his contributions and immense love he shared with the world.
Rest in Peace, dear Barry. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
