Barbara "Doodie" Cronkrite, 93, of Lillian, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024. Born on November 4, 1931, in Lillian, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Nancy Montgomery.
Doodie was a woman whose joy and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She spent much of her life as a devoted and beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Doodie was known for her incredible kindness and deep unwavering love for her family and friends. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel valued. She brought light into the lives of those around her through her vibrant smile and infectious laughter. Doodie enjoyed local sports and cherished the time spent with family cheering on the Alvarado Indians, Mavericks, Cowboys, and Rangers.
She is survived by her son in law James Neeley, granddaughter Kelsey Belt, husband Eric, and their two daughters Jayden and Olivia, granddaughter Lisa Oaks, husband Denver Oaks and daughter Dylan, grandson John Weimer, wife Erica, and their two sons Bode and True, and grandson Russell Weimer, wife Suzy, and their children Pandora, Sophie, Lyman and Rachel. Doodie was preceded in death by her husband Lyman Cronkrite, son Ronnie Cronkrite, daughters Becky Weimer and Tammy Neeley, granddaughter Rachel Weimer, and many other family and friends who meant so much to her.
Doodie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her loving spirit and joyful presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
