Addie Pearl Griffin Johnston was born December 2, 1938 and passed on February 27, 2023 at 84 years young.
She was born to Father Edward Lee Griffin and Mother Myrtle Lucille (Hogue) McMenamy. Her stepfather was Jimmy McMenamy. Addie was born in Fort Worth, Texas and she was a graduate of Poly Tech High School. On April 10, 1955, Addie married Larry Johnston and they celebrated 37 years of family and marriage.
Mrs. Johnston lived in Alvarado for over 60 years and enjoyed teaching children about the Lord. For 25 years she worked at the First Baptist Church in the nursery. She was also the den leader for the Boy Scout troop in Alvarado. She never knew a stranger and Addie helped start the Helping Hands for Jesus in Alvarado. She loved her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Johnston, son, David Johnston, father, Edward Lee Griffin, mother, Myrtle Lucille Hogue McMenamy and stepdad, Jimmy McMenamy.
Her survivors include her three sons, Dale Johnston and wife Carla Johnston of Sasakawa Oklahoma, Tim Johnston of Fort Worth and Charles Johnston and wife Susan Tomko Johnston of Jefferson, Ohio and her brother, Sidney Sanders of Sunset, Texas.
She had 4 grandchildren, Justin Johnston and his wife Kira Johnston of Rhode Island, Todd Johnston and significant other, Amanda Sumpter of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Kristin Johnston Kimbrell and husband Jason Kimbrell of Odgen, Utah. Step Grandson, Samuel Hardcastle and wife Kylie of Midland, Texas. Great Grandchildren, Ashlyn, Rory, Kloie, Lesley, Dallas, Maverick, Brantley, Oaklee, Merrick, Ashlynn, nephew, Steve Sanders and of course, a host of family and friends.
