Lamar Tavoian Obituary

LaMar Arzuman Tavoian, Jr., 68, of Covington, Texas passed away September 13, 2018. He was born December 12, 1949, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Within a few days, he was adopted by LaMar Sr. and Faun Tavoian, the first of their seven children. LaMar was married to Sherry Lynn Harris in May 1972 and they had five children: Dan, Bill, John, Dawn, and Marla. Sherry passed away in December 1998. LaMar married Diane Marie Wrightsman in May 1999 and became a stepfather to her two daughters: Elizabeth Wrightsman and Catherine Barker.

He is survived by his wife Diane, siblings Pat Holding, Linda Perry, Jimmy Tavoian, Max Tavoian, Tania Bishoff, and Brian Tavoian as well as his seven children. Also surviving him are his 11 grandchildren: Bill Tavoian, Theresa Tavoian, Brian Medeiros, Andy Medeiros, Travis Gibson, Mishayla Twyman, Ashley Gibson, Brooke-Lynn Gibson, Richard Gibson, Annabelle Barker, and Adalynn Barker, and one great grandson, Bently Gibson. LaMar will be fondly remembered and missed by all.

In the last few years, LaMar had the opportunity to meet his birth father, Junior Naccarato, and his birth family. The Naccarato family welcomed him in as a long-lost son and LaMar enjoyed the friendship of several more siblings.

LaMar worked for Lockheed Martin for nearly 30 years as an engineer, driving his 1995 Dodge Ram truck to work every day. He and his truck accumulated many miles together, nearly 500,000, and both retired to his 18-acre farm in Hill County in 2012.
