Wanda Jean Pena's journey on this Earth came to an end on Oct. 5, 2019. She was 80 years old. She entered this world as the daughter of Jessie M. Lee and Janie E. (Massey) Lee on Dec. 8, 1938 in Wills Point, TX. She was the 7th of 11 children. Even though she spent most of her childhood in Dallas, Houston, and Fort Worth, Texas, she always considered Willspoint her childhood home. Wanda married her true love, Hector Pena, on April 3, 1967 and remained blissfully married to him for 52 years.
Wanda was a writer and homemaker for most of her adult life, she loved her family fiercely, and she was a dedicated Christian; she was a member of the Venus Church of Christ.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother Janie Lee, her father Jessie Lee, her son Thomas Russell, grandson Seth Prunty, her three brothers Arthur Lee McGuire, Lloyd Lee, Travis Lee, and six sisters Inez McGuire Millsap, Imogene McGuire, Lois Kent, Betty Turner, Evelyn Guiterrez, and Peggy Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Hector Pena of Alvarado, TX, daughter Yolanda Wright and spouse Loni Fowler of Alvarado, TX, daughter Ellee Johnson and spouse Andy Johnson of Missouri, her sister, Shirley Nash of Venus, TX, her grandchildren: Matthew Wright of Cleburne, TX, Brooke Wright of Burleson, TX, Allison Wright of College Station, TX, Hannah Wright of College Station, TX, Keri Reina of Mesquite, TX, Richard Prunty of Arlington, TX, Cynthia Baker of Duncanville, TX, and Christopher Russell of Arlington, TX. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great,great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
