Katherine Mae Youngblood Bankston peacefully passed and went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2019. She lived a long, happy and prosperous life. Katherine was born Katherine Mae Youngblood, in Rio Vista, Texas on August 30, 1920 to Ola and Charlie Youngblood. She met Cecil Earnest Bankston and they were married on November 23, 1938. Affectionately known as “DeDe” to her family and friends, she made a lasting impact on every life she touched.
Katherine was a strong-willed, hardworking woman, who was a beloved homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved sewing, gardening and cooking, and was well-known in the community for her delicious recipes, which she lovingly passed down to her grandchildren. She was passionate about her faith and family and loved her church. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Cecil, brother Roger, sister Billie, her sons David Sr. and Reece, grandson Lyndell and great grandson Cody. She is survived by her brother Joe and wife Betty, son Don and wife Judy, son Billy and wife Nancy, Reece’s wife Sue, twelve grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
