Garland “Kid” Cook, 90, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home in Grandview, surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, Texas, Bob Baze, officiating. Pallbearers: Ruben DeAnda, Kirby Basham, Corry Parker, Rod McNiel, John Montgomery, Jerry Hidlebaugh.

Garland Haywood Cook was born February 27, 1929 in Grandview, Texas the son of James Edward Cook and Hallie Ann Powell Cook. He graduated from Grandview High School. Kid as his friends knew him worked most of his life as a Dairyman and Farmer. He married Novie Elaine Dunham October 16, 1972 in Durant, Oklahoma. He and his wife were the owners of Cook Feed in Alvarado since 1973.
Kid was preceded in death by his parents; son, Garland Glenn Cook; and brother, Edward Monroe “Jake”.
Those left to Cherish his memory: Loving wife of 46 years, Novie Cook; daughters, Lynell Cook Pinkerton, Tamara Maywald, and Rita Cook Basham and her husband Kirby; step-son, Gary Maywald; grandsons, Bryce Basham, and Jarrod Pinkerton; and sister-in-law, Alice Cook.
